I remember being frustrated when I first started living in the city. There are so many things happening all around, all the time. Snippets of conversation, an odd sign, or a box left on the sidewalk marked “Christmas” but filled with garbage and a few odds and endsโ€”these all just hint at the stories behind them. I wanted to know why, and who, and what happened but I just walked past these things. Now they’re stuck in my memory forever with no explanation. Then I became an investigator and suddenly it was my job to dig up the stories behind the questions I encountered. There is a wealth of information out there for someone with time and a bit of ingenuity. It occurred to me that I could investigate the little questions that piqued my interest. So here I am, indulging in my curiosity and perhaps, if you’d like to come along with me, yours.

  2. HI Carol, Thanks for the “A writer confesses” like. I enjoyed your piece about convoluted investigations to remembering the name of lost Enum Claw record stores. I love that you’re a Seattleite, as am I.
